YAMANE, Toshio
YAMANE, Toshio
Tokyo: Joho Center Shuppan-Kyoku, 1991. First edition. 51 color plates, printed rectos only. Oblong 4to. Flecked tan paper over boards; dust jacket. Minor bumping and wear to corners; near fine.
First book by Japanese photographer Toshio Yamane (b. 1953), a collection of striking color photographs documenting construction sites in the rapidly developing areas in and around Tokyo Bay. With a brief text at rear, in Japanese and English. Laid in to this copy is a two-page signed letter of presentation, in English, in an envelope signed at rear by Yamane and addressed "Dear Editor of Aperture Magazine." OCLC locates only two institutional holdings; rather uncommon in the trade as well.
