VERDET, [André], and Arman
Venice: Cavallino, 1966. No. 9 of 200 copies, signed in pencil by Verdet to limitation page at rear. [16]pp, accordion fold. Black cloth over boards, 4 x 6 in; front board stamped in gold; in the original gold belly band printed with equinoctial motif. Light fraying to front tips; a touch of offsetting to fore-edge of two early leaves. Belly band with moderate rubbing and a damp stain to rear. Altogether very good.
A handsome silk-screened leporello artist's book featuring a pair of lyrically charged French texts on the vernal and autumnal equinoxes, as vibrantly silk-screened in complementary shades of yellow, blue, and black, with text overlaid in gold, and six pages die-cut with one of three variations on the number "21." One of several collaborations between artists André Verdet (1913–2004) and Arman (1928–2005).
