SUNDANCER, Elaine; Judith St. Soleil, illus.
Yellow Springs, OH: Community Publications Cooperative, 1973. 176pp.; illus. Illustrated wraps. Very good, with creasing, wear, and rubbing to wraps; former owner's stamp to title page; small spot of soiling to first few leaves.
An autobiographical account of life on a 1960/70s hippie commune, Saddle Ridge Farm, in rural Oregon. Told as a series of narrative vignettes elaborating various aspects of communal life--"food," "parties," "meditation," "money," "Aa school?" etc.--as well as more personal reflections on interrelations with other members. With sporadic line-drawn portraits throughout. N.B. Copies of this title in the trade are more often than not mistakenly identified as inscribed by the author; the holograph text on p.[3] ("I don't want this book ever to be assigned as required reading to anyone. Elaine") is in fact mechanically reproduced.
