[ORPHANS OF AMERIKA]
Berkeley: Orphans of Amerika, [1974]. [16]pp, printed on blue and beige paperstocks; b&w illus. Unbound in blue card wraps printed in red and black. Fine.
A collection of thirteen poems written in support of militant far-left radical group Symbionese Liberation Army; published in the wake of the May 1974 police shootout that left six members of the group dead, with several poems written directly in response to the incident and black-and-white headshots of the six reproduced on the final leaf. Most poems anonymous; attributed authors are Ohaka, "a sister in the Weather Underground Organization," Bertolt Brecht, Miki Sharron, and "comrade che." Orphans of Amerika was apparently an alternate imprint used by, or closely related to, the Bay Area Research Collective (BARC). OCLC locates five institutional holdings.
