Puncture : A Magazine of Punk Culture, Spring 1983 [Issue No. 3]

SPIELMANN, Katherine, and Patty Stirling, eds.

SPIELMANN, Katherine, and Patty Stirling, eds.

San Francisco: [Puncture], 1983. 26pp; illus. Side-stapled in illustrated wraps. Light bumping to fore-corners; a few crimped page corners. Very good or better.

The third of 47 total issues of this impactful music magazine, which ran from 1982 to 2000, and is notable for having been founded and published by women. This issue indicative of Puncture's early focus on punk, with features and record reviews of Flipper, the UK Subs, Black Athletes, Meat Puppets, etc. The magazine's focus later shifted to a broader survey of the indie music landscape. Its contents have been anthologized in two recent works, Puncture: The First 6 Issues (2019) and Now Is the Time to Invent (2020). Early issues uncommon in the trade.
