NY: Harper & Brothers, 1935. Hardcover. 8vo. 423pp. Stated first edition, with "I-K" date stamp. Black cloth with gilt spine titles and partly faded black topstain. Very good in a good (+) jacket.
Slight forward lean. Pushing at spine ends, light shelfwear, lightly toned textblock. Unclipped "2.50" jacket has chips out at head of spine, top and bottom of rear panel, and front top tip. General edgewear and rubbing, with several diagonal creases to the front flap. Prokosch's first novel, a hypnagogic and exquisitely crafted feat of the imagination.
