Photobook consisting of 313 aerial photographs of single-family German homes, originally taken between 1979 and 1983 by a commercial firm who would attempt to sell prints to homeowners. Images selected and grouped according to shared secondary features—dirty clouds, temporary shelters, lawns being mowed, birds in the frame, cemeteries, etc.—by German artist Peter Piller (b. 1968), who acquired the archive of approximately 20,000 photographs. A compelling body of work, systematic, voyeuristic, and prosaic by turns.
