PACHINSKI, Polymer
PACHINSKI, Polymer
Pleasant Hill, CA: Polymer Pachinski, [circa 1980s]. [18]; b&w illus; xerox. 4to. Side-stapled in pictorial self-wraps. Near fine, with light wear and toning to covers.
Xeroxed artist's zine pairing images of war and religious iconography with collaged excerpts of texts by Genet, Nietzsche, Fanon, Suzuki, Jung, and Dostoevsky; lo-fi, nihilistic, and single-minded in the link its draws between mass murder and organized religion. Along with the publication address on rear cover is an offer to send correspondents a free cassette tape, Record Stomach; though a Discogs listing confirms the existence of this tape, it offers no further clues to the mysterious (and presumably pseudonymous) Pachinski. An intriguing artifact, redolent of the anti-art aesthetics of the 1980s noise music underground. No author hits in OCLC.
