Third issue of this periodical collecting the lyrics and melodic notations of contemporary folk songs. Though uncredited here (aside from her songwriting), Peggy Seeger was responsible for compiling and editing the songs, many of which she also wrote. With frequently striking illustrations and typography by Dave Scott. Founded in 1968, New City Songster ran until 1985, producing 21 total volumes. This issue with thirteen songs, with contributions from Seeger and her husband Ewan MacColl, et al.
