Catalog of works by Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake (1938–2022), published in conjunction with a 1983 traveling exhibition of the same name. Includes both examples of Miyake's avant-garde designs on various models and celebrities, as well as brief statements and works in response by Andy Warhol, Fran Lebowitz, Miles Davis, René Ricard, Helmut Newton, Isamu Noguchi, Christo, Robert Wilson, et al., and including a photo-series with art direction by Tadanori Yokoo. Essays by Shinchirō Kurimoto, Ettore Sottsass Jr., and Jakuchō Setouchi. Most text in Japanese and English, with occasional French and Italian.
