An apparently unique bookwork by American artist and illustrator David McLimans (1948-2014), featuring abstract collage and design elements. An active mail artist throughout his career, McLimans also contributed editorial illustrations to various publications, including the New York Times and Harper's, and won a Caldecott Honor award for his 2006 children's book, Gone Wild: An Endangered Animal Alphabet. This in original mailing envelope addressed to fellow mail artist David Greenberger, evidently sent while McLimans was living or traveling in Austria.
