Autobiography of American exotic dancer, hairdresser, and LGBTQ advocate Kenneth Marlowe (1926-1980), who in 1975 transitioned to Katherine "Kate" Marlowe Bies; details, among other things, Marlowe's sexual coming of age as a gay man, career as a female impersonator, and life as a sex-worker, particularly as the "madam" of a male brothel. Introduction by Leonard A. Lowag; foreword by T. C. Jones. N.B. This copy apparently a later state of the first edition, differing from other copies we've handled in its textured paper boards (as opposed to gray cloth) and glued binding.
