Brooklyn and Detroit: Horse in a Storm Press, 1991. [65] leaves, printed rectos only. Side-stapled in printed wraps, 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 in; black-cloth tape over spine. Near fine, with light shelfwear, a handful of crimped page corners.
A systematic artist's book by New York-based installation and book artist Miranda Maher, offering an abstract and depersonalized mode of biographical representation. Participants responded to a questionnaire from Maher asking them to list ten significant dates in their lives, with no additional context. Eighteen such questionnaires are reproduced; followed by fifteen "portraits" by Maher, in which participants' dates were mapped onto sheets containing ten identical gunshot holes; and then nine portraits consisting of participants' dates fashioned into rubber stamps. Intriguing work. OCLC locates 13 holdings.
