LUSTIG, Alvin, book design

NY: Farrar, Straus & Young, 1954. 224, [16]pp advertisements; index; b&w and color illus. 4to. Oatmeal cloth; dust jacket. Toning and mild shelfwear to boards; two pages dog-eared at bottom corner. Unclipped jacket ("$12.50") with rubbing and soiling, a few short closed tears. Very good.

A copiously illustrated survey of mid-century industrial and consumer design, notable for featuring book and jacket design by the legendary Alvin Lustig (1915-1955); one of his last major book design projects before his death in 1955. Edited by The Society of Industrial Designers (and issued on the tenth anniversary of their founding), with chapter text by various contributors. Solid copy.
