It's That Bloke's Ruddy Poems

LAKER, Bruce

LAKER, Bruce

Freshwater, UK: Bruce Laker, 1978. 15pp. Saddle-stapled in illustrated blue wraps. Very good or better, with light toning and sunning to wraps.

An early self-published collection by English poet, musician and trans activist Bruce Laker (1955-2019), notable for coining the term "gender transient" and as founder of the International Gender Transient Affinity (IGTA) and the Transconscient Arts Movement; Laker's female persona, Phaedra Kelly, was a mainstay of British drag balls, and corresponded widely with other trans people. The frequently rhyming poems here do not directly address Laker's gender transience, though many, in their treatment of social and natural themes, are gently critical of prevailing mores. Unrepresented in OCLC.
