NY: Kiss, 1969. Unbound newsprint tabloid. 19pp; b&w illus. 3-inch closed tear to first leaf; one leaf with 1.5-inch chip at top corner (contents not affected). Else very good, unfolded, with the usual toning.

Second issue of this New York sex and counterculture tabloid founded by employees of the East Village Other, and noted for its hipper and more tongue-in-cheek approach to the sleaze tabloid format then proliferating in New York; editor Fabricant (sometimes "Fabrikant") also publisher or Gay Power and Aquarian Agent. Contents include an introductory editorial; an article about necrophelia [sic] by Alan Martin; a D. A. Latimer column, "Mung"; a center-fold featuring a single-panel R. Crumb comic on one side, and an explicit photograph on the other; erotic fiction by Pearl. N. Joying; a page of dirty poems in the manner of nursery rhymes; etc. Illustrated throughout in black-and-white, including explicit nudes; rear cover with color illustration by R. Crumb.

N.B. Unlike most later issues, the cover and center-leaves are here printed on higher-quality paperstock, significantly less toned than the newsprint leaves.
