[Chicago]: [Self-published], [circa 1982]. [20]pp. Saddle-stapled in printed self-wraps. Fine.
The first (and presumably only) issue of this early 80s publication consisting of collaged newspaper clippings accompanied by ironic typewritten commentary in all caps. A note at the base of page 2 credits "Techinical & Material assistance" to Tom Broderick/Bookspace. Our authorial attribution to Jane King is drawn from an Amazon.com author bio for her 2005 diet book Trick Yourself Thin (2005), which notes that King was born in Santa Cruz, helped spur a nascent punk scene in Cleveland, OH, authored The Guide to The Best Public Ladies' Bathrooms in Downtown Chicago, co-created a late night techno show for MTV, wrote several other novels, etc. A scarce and charming relic of cultural ennui in the early Reagan era. We locate a single holding, in the Joan Flasch Artists' Book Collection at SAIC.
