HOLLAND, Joyce [pseud. of Dave Morice]
HOLLAND, Joyce [pseud. of Dave Morice]
[Iowa City]: X Press, 1978. [53] leaves, printed rectos only. Side-stapled in stamp-illustrated wraps. Near fine.
Apparently the final book of concrete poetry published under his Joyce Holland pseudonym by Iowa City-based poet and performance artist Dave Morice (b. 1944), many of the poems collected here having originally appeared in various little mags. Humorous work of an impressive conceptual breadth, reminiscent in places of Aram Saroyan, N. H. Pritchard, David Melnick, etc. Introduction by Darrell Gray, with Morice one of the co-founders of the Actualist Poetry Movement. Morice also noted for his Dr. Alphabet persona, poetry marathons, and as the creator of Poetry Comics. OCLC locates 10 holdings.
