Very good or better in a very good jacket, unclipped ("$4.50"), with significant foxing along rear flap hinge, light foxing to interior, mild fading to spine.

A presentable first edition of the seventh installment in Himes's Harlem Detective series, featuring Black sleuths Coffin Ed Johnson and Gravedigger Jones. Basis for the 1970 Ossie Davis film of the same name.
