Artpolice [11 Issues]

Minneapolis: Artpolice, 1981-1990. 11 issues, with individual bibliographic and condition notes below.

Eleven issues of this punk-inflected anthology art zine, which was published between 1974 and 1994 by one-time Minneapolis College of Art & Design professor Frank Gaard (b. 1944). Contents consist principally of black-and-white line drawings exploring political, sexual, and social topics in stylish and provocative ways. As seen here, issues varied in terms of size, numbering, and even title, though were nonetheless animated by a cohesive aesthetic and outsider ethos, thanks to a core group of artists—many of them Gaard's former students—contributing across the periodical's twenty-year run.
