COMMONDENOMINATOR, Lois, and Sue Casa, eds.
Hollywood, CA: Dragazine, 1991. 8pp; b&w illus. 4to. Unbound in self-wraps. Creasing to bottom corner, light soiling/splashing to covers, wear and toning to edges; good to very good.
First of ten total issues of this drag magazine designed to appeal to "all sexualities, lifestyles and genders" (dragazine.com). Though later issues adopted a glossy color format, this first issue, in keeping with its DIY roots, a decidedly more modest affair. Contents include "Drag For Dollars," a brief column on notable Los Angeles drag performers by Millie Van Willie; "DQ Confidential", an anonymous first-person account of being accosted on the street and successfully fending off a pair of would-be attackers while in full drag; a notice about the shelf-lives of various makeup products; a profile of drag duo The Monroe Twins (pictured on front cover); reader letters; editorial statements; ads; etc.
