Demure Butchness #7 : The Nasty Issue

[Minneapolis]: [Demure Butchness], [circa 1994]. 47pp; b&w illus; xerox. Saddle-stapled in printed yellow wraps. Oxidation to staples, with some bleeding onto covers; light wear and creasing to corners. Very good.

Single issue of this substantive and engagingly written Minneapolis queer zine, edited under his Timmer pseudonym by Tim Lee, who notably went on to serve as managing editor of Lavender Magazine. This issue dedicated to the memory of AIDS victim Jerikk Todd (1967-1994), with two touching remembrances at front. The rest of the articles treat with tongue-in-cheek black humor on various aspects of gay life in Minneapolis and in general; with contributions from Teg (of queer zine Bundle of Sticks fame; a saucy riposte in an ongoing faux-beef between the two zines), Michael Moeglin, Timothy Siragusa, Michael Dahl, Jon Douglas, Mike Stickel, Dallas Drake, et al. Not in Bronson & Aarons. OCLC locates six institutions holding copies.
