The Little Siberian

NY: Henry Holt and Company, 1929. Hardcover. 8vo. 230pp. Presumed first edition (no statement of printing). Orange cloth with black titles and decorative red embossing on front board. Light wear at spine ends and board tips, faint soiling to boards, a handful of crimped page corners, else very good (+), lacking a jacket. Uncommon title by the prolific Russian writer, who in the early years of the 20th century wrote dozens of wildly popular tales featuring largely female protagonists, before falling out of favor in the Soviet era. Translated by Hana Muskova Shaw.
