Your Future in Waitressing : Basic Steps to Financial Security Through Hard Work and Heavy Loads

BUCKLES, Laura

BUCKLES, Laura

[N.P.]: Aloe Vera Press, 1979. [20]pp; numerous leaves with elements either mounted or laid into pockets. Saddle-sewn in self-wraps; housed in a checkered red-and-white cloth portfolio with "deluxe" medallion mounted to front cover verso. Toning to edges of leaves; some warping from laid-in elements; light fading to spine of portfolio. Very good.

A pointed but playful feminist critique of the wage economy, with a tongue-in-cheek running text offering waitressing tips, with four elements laid in (a floral handkerchief, an order pad, a name tag, and a Mona Lisa posatcard), and a mounted baggie containing what appear to be tiny beads on a piece of thread. Though the silver doily mounted to front board states "deluxe," we are unaware of any other iteration of the work than the present. Uncommon in the trade.
