Map of Thirty-Six Square Miles About the South Pole

[N.P.]: [Self-published], [n.d.; circa 1960s/70s?]. Stiff card wraps, 4-3/4 x 6-1/4 in., with type-written title card mounted to front. Interior a 16-fold pop-up element affixed to interiors of wraps, with inked map scale at right. Title card toned and lifting slightly at left corners. Short stress tear to one of the interior folds. Very good.

A presumably unique bookwork constituting an abstract, three-dimensional representation of the southern polar region, appropriately barren save for the hand-inked map scale. By a possibly Portuguese or Brazilian artist (or cartographer), about whom our research efforts have turned up no clues. A mysterious and meticulously executed object.
