Star Guests . . Design for Mortality

Noblesville, IN: Soulcraft Chapels, 1950. Second edition (stated). 246pp. Red textured paper boards; gilt spine titles; all edges stained red; lacking a jacket, presumably as issued. Light wear to spine ends; two spots of scuffing/soiling to rear endpapers. Near fine.

A UFO-themed work of religious philosophy bound in the manner of a hymnal, in which the narrator channels messages from a cosmic entity referred to variously as the "Disincarnate Intelligence," the "Invisible Teacher," etc. Author William Dudley Pelley (1890-1965) was a screenwriter, occultist, Nazi-sympathizer, and fascist political agitator who spent eight years in prison on sedition charges before being paroled in 1950, the year this book was first published.
