Presentation copy of one of the more informative and romantic books about the 1960s back-to-the-land movement, a personal account of life on the southern Vermont commune known as Packer Corner. Mungo, one of the founders of the Liberation News Service (LNS), cooperatively purchased a farm in Guilford, Vermont in 1968 with two other ex-LNS staffers, christening it first the Democratic Republic of Vermont and later Packer Corner. The commune, which remained operational until at least the mid-1990s, at one time also boasted Living on the Earth author Alicia Bay Laurel as a member. An uncommon first, particularly signed.
