A Special Rage

NY: Harper & Row, 1971. First edition. 276pp; index. 8vo; black boards backed with red cloth; silver and black spine titles. Former owner's name penned on front pastedown. Else fine in fine dust jacket, price-clipped. A sharp copy of this first-person account of the Black Panther Party, and in particular of the 1968 trial of Huey P. Newton, by a New York-born Black reporter. Originally assigned to report on the Newton case by Life magazine, Moore took a leave of absence after Life refused to publish his article as-written, and adapted it into the present work.
