The Abnormal World of Transvestites and Sex Changes

NY: Imperial / L. S. Publications, 1965. 192pp. Mass-market paperback; perfect-bound in illustrated wraps. Mild edgewear and light scuffing to wraps. Very good, with uncreased spine and strong binding.

Faux-sociological smut in the form of purportedly genuine first-person accounts of trans identity; exploitative but not pornographic, and notable at least for the broader than usual range of experiences it attempts to convey across nineteen chapters, including crossdressing ("Study of a Married Transvestite"), gender-affirming surgery ("Obtaining the Operation"), passing as a trans woman ("Hidden Sex Changes"), transitioning ("Transition from Male to Female," "Assuming A Male Identity"), etc. Delightfully panned in a contemporary review by Lorraine Channing in Turnabout: A Magazine of Transvestism, No. 6: "This work is so shoddy and nonsensical that if the author does enlighten his reader, the reader must be indeed beyond psychiatric help or have been too long "in the closet.""
