A "poem in three parts" about the 1968 Chicago riots that took place in the wake of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. Notably, Brooks' first work after leaving long-time publisher Harper for the Black-run Broadside Press. Front cover by Cledie Taylor; frontispiece a color reproduction of the Jeff Donaldson painting "Allah Shango."
