First English-language edition of this monograph on the graffiti photographs taken beginning in the early 1930s by legendary Hungarian-French photographer Brassaï (pseudonym of Gyula Halász, 1899-1984). With several texts by Brassaï, including excerpts from his Conversations with Picasso, and a section at rear of facsimile pages from one of Brassaï's notebooks. This English-language edition relatively uncommon compared to the French edition of 1993.
